India’s Transformation: Speed, Scale, and Global Responsibility

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking in Bali, Indonesia, highlighted the significant changes in India before and after 2014, emphasizing the increased speed and scale of development. He stated that India is now working at an unprecedented pace and on an extraordinary scale, no longer thinking small.

Modi mentioned that India’s projects, such as statues and stadiums, are now among the largest in the world. He emphasized that India is not a selfish nation and includes the economic and political aspirations of the world in its development roadmap for the next 25 years.

India, proud of its heritage and aiming for development while staying connected to its roots, is focused on becoming a developed nation. Modi stressed that this goal is not just for India but also for the betterment of the world, as India has a responsibility to meet the world’s expectations.

The Prime Minister cited various initiatives undertaken by his government since 2014, including the opening of over 320 million bank accounts, construction of 3 crore houses for the poor, and the building of 55,000 km of national highways. He also mentioned the health benefits provided under Ayushman Bharat, covering more beneficiaries than the populations of the US and EU combined.

Modi invited the Indian community to attend the upcoming Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention in Indore in January 2023 and the kite festival in Gujarat. He also highlighted the cultural and trade links between India and Indonesia, mentioning the traditional “Bali Jatra” and the common aspects between the two countries in various sectors.

The Prime Minister concluded by stating that India has changed and urged the audience to feel confident and proud of the country’s progress.
