Central India’s Covid-19 Update: Declining Cases, High Vaccination Rate

India recorded 13,405 new Covid-19 cases and 235 related deaths in the 24 hours ending at 8 am on Tuesday. The daily cases decreased from Monday’s 16,051 cases. The country’s active caseload also dropped to 181,075 from the previous day’s 202,000, making up 0.42% of the total cases.

The daily cases have stayed below 100,000 for 16 consecutive days. The daily positivity rate has fallen to 1.24% from 1.93%, while the weekly positivity rate is now at 1.98%, down from 2.12%.

India’s total tally is now at 428,51,929, with a death toll of 512,344. The recovery rate is 98.38%.

As cases decline across the country, India saw only 96 cases and one death on Monday, the lowest in 22 months. Meanwhile, recorded 360 new cases and four fatalities, with a positivity rate below 1% for the first time since December 28 last year. In , the test positivity rate was 2.0%.

According to the Union Ministry of Health, over 35.50 lakh doses of the Covid-19 vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours. India’s vaccination coverage has surpassed 175.83 crores as of 7 am on Tuesday.
