Ambala Police Crackdown: Special Survey and Border Security Measures

Estimated read time 2 min read

The Ambala police, under the orders of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Shrikant Jadhav, conducted a special survey in Deha Colony from 5 to 7 am on Tuesday to identify individuals engaging in anti-social activities, prevent crimes, and maintain law and order in the area. The focus was on countering the use of narcotics, with 150 officers and police personnel deployed for the survey. Additionally, 21 police teams have been formed to conduct similar drives. Deha is considered a sensitive area due to the high number of people using narcotics, and there have been reports of peddlers establishing contacts in educational institutions to increase their drug supply.

Given that Ambala shares borders with Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, superintendents of police (SP) from districts in these states met with SPs of Kurukshetra, Yamunanagar, and Kaithal to address the issue of anti-social elements and criminals crossing borders after committing crimes, creating trans-border problems for the police. The meeting aimed to facilitate quick action in cases involving border problems faced by the investigating team.

Meanwhile, Ambala SP Jashandeep Singh Randhawa instructed supervisory officers and SHOs to enhance security measures in their respective areas, intensify checking at public places such as railway stations, bus stands, dharamshalas, hotels, shopping centers, markets, and eateries, and appealed to the public to cooperate with the police in maintaining law and order.
